ADMINISTRATIVE SCHOOL INTERN - 2024 SECONDARY SUMMER PROGRAMS

LOCATION: Middle School/High School

SALARY: Unpaid Internship

 DATES:  Early July 2024 through mid-August 2024 (6 weeks)

JOB DESCRIPTION:

• Coordination of Amherst Central Secondary School Summer programming on Mondays through Thursdays from July 2024 through August 2024.
• Implement Master Schedule, Faculty Handbook, Student Handbook, and other materials associated with our Summer programs.
• Daily student management and communication with families.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Candidate must  be progressing toward certification as a  School Building Leader (SBL) or School District Leader (SDL).

                                   SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHER AIDE - MIDDLE SCHOOL

SALARY: $16.00/hour  

HOURS:   32.5 HOURS/WEEK -10 month position

DESCRIPTION / QUALIFICATIONS:

• Must be fingerprinted through the NYS Department of Education (required for new employees) - fingerprint procedure
• High School Diploma OR four (4) years of experience and knowledge in a particular field where specialized duties are involved.
• Experience working with special education students preferred
• Personal Aide - Middle School setting (Grades 6-8)

SALARY: $18.50/hour, plus payment for additional credit hours, if applicable

• TEACHING ASSISTANTS MUST HAVE TEACHING ASSISTANT CERTIFICATION OR NYS TEACHER CERTIFICATION (Special Education) OR WORKING TOWARDS EITHER OF THESE CERTIFICATIONS
• Experience working with middle school students

DESCRIPTION:

Assist with routine classroom functions, assume teacher responsibilities, conduct classroom activities and assist with required paperwork in classrooms.

                                                                  FOOD SERVICE HELPER 10 -MONTH

SALARY: $16 per hour 

HOURS: 17.5 hrs/week -School Days Only

LOCATION: AMHERST MIDDLE SCHOOL

START DATE: September 3, 2024 (tentative date)- ** Paid Training during May and June prior to start date **(Pay rate as per 2024 Contract- $15 per hour)**

DUTIES and QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Washing of pots & pans
• Work in dish room
• Minor Food Preparation
• Serving students and adults during lunch periods
• Train as back up cashier
• Any reasonable request assigned by the cook manager
• Must be able to lift 40 pounds
• Must be able to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
• Must be able to understand, read and write and speak the English language proficiently
• Must be a team player.
• Experience is helpful, but not necessary

• Must be fingerprinted through the NYS Department of Education (required for new employees) - fingerprint procedure

 

**Uniform Allowance, Fingerprinting reimbursed after 1 year of employment, paid sick, personal and snow days.**
