ANTICIPATED LONG TERM SUBSTITUTE PHYSICAL EDUCATION TEACHER 

START DATE: September 14, 2026 through November 2, 2026(tentative dates)

LOCATION: Amherst Middle School

SALARY: $170 per day - Pending Board Approval

DESCRIPTION:

              The Amherst Central School District is seeking a highly motivated Long-Term Substitute Physical Education Teacher for our Middle School. The successful candidate will provide standards-based physical education instruction that promotes lifelong fitness, skill development, teamwork, and personal responsibility in a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment. Candidates should demonstrate strong classroom management skills, the ability to build positive relationships with students and staff, and a commitment to supporting the academic, social, and emotional growth of all learners. Familiarity with New York State Physical Education Learning Standards and the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues are essential.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • New York State certification in Physical Education
  • NYSED approved Lifeguard and First Aid/CPR/AED certifications preferred
  • Must be fingerprinted through the NYS Department of Education prior to start of employment (See attached)
